My Role: UX Designer
Duration: May 2023 - 1 Week
Responsibilities: Identified and addressed usability and accessibility gaps
Overview: This daycare center located in San Jose, CA. The primary action of their website is to provide information to prospective parents and help them book tours. They gave me the task of refining the design of their website using common UX design principles.
Design Considerations
The Problem: Laurel Play Garden’s needs to increase the number of children enrolled each month. Managers have identified that parents have trouble finding information about the daycare services and enrollment.
The Goal: Increase click visibility of information, click through rates for tours and increase enrollment.
The Solution
Color + Contrast Update: New color palette increased contrast ration. Checked against WCAG standards.
Realignment elements: All users mentioned the site felt more cohesive, noting it positively affected their experience.
Call to Action Buttons: 60% of users found the call to action buttons easier to locate.
List Items + hover state Refinement: 45% of users found the site was easier to navigate with updated list items.
